Larrys Finish Season on High Note

Disposing of the Collision Experts, 3-2, The Larrys took away 3rd place from the Experts and finished the season ready to face the Ice Turtles in round one of the playoffs, next Tuesday at 9:55PM. After last night’s win, the team got together and voted off veteran one-hander, Jeff Freel, due to salary cap. The Larrys Blog editors could not reach Freel for comment, who reportedly was busy, “in the bath with my rubber duckie.” When questioned about his teammates new yellow squeaky friend, Donkey commented, “I’m not really into rubber ducks, I prefer bricks, they make great sounds when you check them into the side wall of the shower.”

Larrys Cage the Puppies

After slapping the Puppies in the opening minutes of the 1st to take a 3-0 lead, The Larrys worked off 12 penalties and held on to win 5-4. It was a game full of hits, whines, and an almost brawl – hey. it’s Larrys hockey!

Next game is vs the Collision Experts, next Thursday the 28th at 10PM.

Ice Turtles Tortoise a New One

On his triumphant return, Jeff Freel remarked after the game, “It’s obvious this team cannot without me…oh, wait a minute, we lost,” then he was whisked off by security. Sadly, The Larrys went down in a heap of doodoo after a good first period, and fell to the Titties, 2-5. Next “game” is next Tuesday vs the Slut Puppies at 9:55. Let’s hope The Larrys bring some game.

Larrys Give Red Army a French Kiss

Another multi-point night for Frenchy (2 goals?!??!), a solid game in the pipes by Pads, and good hustle and penalty killing all came together to help The Larrys win 2-1 in the lovely outdoors of Rink 3.

Next game is Tuesday, 9:55 VS The Brewins.

Overtime Crash

With 2:30 left in the game and a 4-2 lead, it looked as though The Larrys would win another game, but The Collision Experts had other ideas, and took advantage of the sleepy Larrys to net 2 goals in the waning moments with their goalie pulled. To add insult to injury, the Experts scored shortly into overtime to take the extra point and the game, 5-4. Plech. Yuck. Gross. F$%^k that sh*t.

Next game is Tuesday night VS the Red Army, 9:55PM.

We Almost Won

Billy Wish states:

“We lost 2-1.  They made a short handed two-on-one break away goal with less than two minutes remaining.  Both teams scored their first goal within a minute of each other in the first period. Only 10 skaters.  Not great passing, but everyone played their positions well especially the centers that helped the defense clear the zone.”

The Wolfeman adds:

“There 2nd goal was a power play goal. Kudos to Boston and Frenchy, they were the centers. Yes that is the same Frenchy we know and love.

Turtles Shell-Shocked

The Larrys exploded for a 7-2 lead, and held off a late surge by the Turtles to win 7-5. In traditional style when playing the Turtles, the Larrys called up another net minder from the minors, this time TJ, who did a great job keeping the Turtles off the board early and often. This left Pads to skate out, and obtain a hat trick in the process. It was an all-around great effort from the Larrys, who skate next Tuesday against the always tough Slush Puppies.

Nothin’ Brewin’

The Larrys, with a strong forecheck, kept the Brewins (Revkin) at bay, and topped the yeast-drinkers, 3-2. For the first time ever in Larrys history, there were 4 lines of offense and 4 lines of defense. Players tried to communicate on the bench between shifts, but Mikey P remarked, “It’s hard to talk to a teammate when they’re sitting in another zip code.” Fortunately, there were no aft thrusters fired on the bench, so everyone was able to stay close and cozy. IPHL takes a break until the second week of January, when the Larrys will return to the ice, Tuesday, January 8th at 10PM to face the Turtles. Who will be in net Only the Shadow knows…

Fog Cryin’ Out Loud

The Larrys broke in the new third sheet in Rockville last night, but it was the Red Army who won the battle, 6-2. Although the plan was to send off Ovechkin-shield with a loss, the Army’s attack was too much for The Larrys, who had no penalties but couldn’t find the net enough times to keep it close. Next game is next Tuesday against the Brewins.

Larrys Survive Collision

Well, lookee here, I’m a little late with the blog, see? Alas, the Larrys held off the short-benched Collision Experts, despite a few late penalties and missed opportunities, 3-2. Good pressure by the Larrys and turned up play helped bring home the victory. After the game, our reporters caught up with Frenchie to get his comments. He said, “I’m still not tired.”

Next game is Tuesday against the Red Army.
